Eddie Murphy – Raw (1987) [DVDRiP]

The audacious concert film Eddie Murphy Raw rubbed some people the wrong way upon its release in 1987, but there’s no denying that between Murphy’s more insensitive bits about women and gay men is some of his most inspired material. While the young comedian indulges an unattractive homophobia and rants about the sexual manipulativeness of all females, he makes up for it with an amazing story about being chided by Bill Cosby for obscene humor and does a great impression of Mr. T falling under the spell of a Jedi mind trick. The best stuff comes deep into the show, particularly a long tale of being pressured into a fight at a club, resulting in a phone call to Murphy’s drunk father, the latter in the middle of a verbal attack on his wife. The scene is genuinely horrifying and funny, testament to Murphy’s early reputation as heir to Richard Pryor’s mercilessly autobiographical brilliance.

Eddie Murphy – Delirious (1983) [DVDRiP]

Light years before political correctness–1983 to be exact–or his comeback in tame Disney comedies, Eddie Murphy was a charismatic, wonderfully offensive, egocentric 22-year-old black comedian known for crude celebrity impersonations and often shockingly frank diatribes on racial and sexual politics. Dressed in a skin-tight red leather suit and delivering endless streams of obscenities faster than Richard Pryor ever did, Murphy is captured in this raunchy HBO special (a filmed document of his Grammy-winning album, Eddie Murphy, Comedian) at his confident, swaggering, comedic peak–a posture that soon disappeared after a string of bland Hollywood comedies. Here, however, his energy and sheer virtuosity command complete control over the audience for 107 minutes, whether he’s mocking personalities like Elvis, James Brown, and Stevie Wonder, or spinning long, gag-filled personal anecdotes about the ice-cream man or dysfunctional family barbecues. There’s no apologizing for the immature stereotyping, blatant homophobia, and sexism (though Murphy did so several years later) that surface during the routine. But, then again, unlike his much nastier, one-sided concert film, Raw, no topic here is safe from Murphy’s uproarious tongue-lashings–including the comedian himself.

The Emperor’s New Groove 2: Kronk’s New Groove (2005)-dvdrip

Kronk (Patrick Warburton), now chef and Head Delivery Boy of Mudka’s Meat Hut, is fretting over the upcoming visit of his father. Kronk’s father always disapproved of young Kronk’s culinary interests and wished that Kronk instead would settle down with a wife and a large house on a hill.

In a flashback, Kronk tells the story of how he almost had both of these. As unwitting accomplice to Yzma’s (Eartha Kitt) (a villainess who turned into a cat in the first movie, but is now human again despite still having a tail) plan to sell snake oil as a youth potion, he makes enough money to buy the old folks’ home from the old folks and put his large new home there; but then when he realizes they’ve sold everything they own in return for something which doesn’t work, he gives his home back to them.

Kronk, as camp counselor of the Junior Chipmunks at Camp Chippamunka he falls in love with fellow counselor Miss Birdwell (Tracey Ullman); but when one of his Chipmunks pulls a prank to win the camp championships and is caught, Kronk protects the boy at the cost of alienating his love.

Kronk’s father (John Mahoney) arrives and confusion ensues as several supportive friends try to pass themselves off to him as Kronk’s wife and kids. But in the end Kronk realizes that his wealth is in his friendships, and this finally wins his father’s thumbs up and Miss Birdwell’s love.

Georges has Down syndrome, living at a mental-institution, Harry is a busy businessman, giving lectures for young aspiring salesmen. He is successful in his business life, but his social life is a disaster since his wife left him and took their two children with her. This weekend his children came by train to meet him, but Harry, working as always, forgot to pick them up. Neither his wife or his children want to see him again and he is driving around on the country roads, anguished and angry. He almost runs over Georges, on the run from the institution since everybody else went home with their parents except him, whose mother is dead. Harry tries to get rid of Georges but he won’t leave his new friend. Eventually a special friendship forms between the two of them, a friendship which makes Harry a different person
